Edge Paint

Rationale. A private bank ledger, rebound for this decade. Everything is paper, ink, and marbled fore-edges: the kind of object you would find in a mahogany writing desk, except the layout, spacing, and interaction are entirely current-year iOS. Marbling is the Wagyu metaphor: no two sheets alike, impossible to forge, and the pattern only shows on the edge, the way privacy only shows when the book is closed.

Risk. Paper-and-serif can slide into twee nostalgia. The counter is strict modern layout: generous white space, large tabular numerals, current touch idioms, zero clip-art ornament. Marbling appears only as edge material, never wallpaper.
